Do You Think That You Know Everything About Marriage? Some Hidden Secrets Revealed!

Different stories, suggestions, advice and special touch of personal stories about marriage and such special stories are like a learning session for you. You try to learn a lot from other’s experiences and you think that now you know a lot about marriage and you will be able to handle the toughest situation very well. But, no matter how well learned you feel with these advice and suggestions, there are a lot of things which can give you jittery nights. You always feel that you are not fully loaded with everything to handle many situations, when it comes your personal experience. However, over the period of time, you develop your own sense of understanding and maturity being in this special relationship. Here, we are sharing a few things which no one tells you about marriage.

Together in sickness and health: This is one thing which no one will tell you. You are with your spouse all the time either your partner is well or sick, you will always be with your partner. You always try to make your partner happy, healthy and satisfied in this relationship. You tend to support your partner in his/her bad health by serving him/her like a nurse and doing everything to make him/her comfortable. Cleaning his/her things, making bed, and at times spoon feeding like mother. So, you do a lot of things to support your life partner always.

You need some space: No matter how much you love each-other and how close you are, still at times you feel like you need some space. You can’t be together all time and at times you feel like you need some “Me Time”. At times, you feel suffocated and you think that you need some special time for self. It is ok to feel like that to enjoy some “Me Time” only.

You feel the urge to sleep freely: You love to cuddle and feel each-other when you are in bed. But, there comes a time when you feel the urge to sleep freely on your bed the way you used to do before marriage. You feel like to sleep freely like a clock or in your favorite position, rather than cuddling your partner. It is something that you need your own comfort zone to sleep and you want to enjoy it.

Discovering new things about each-other: When you start living with your partner after marriage, you discover that there are a lot of things about which you were not aware of earlier. It might be related to his/her eating habits, sleeping postures, their personality at home or something different. You learn and discover new things about your partner with each passing day. At times, you feel like he/she is totally different from the person whom you dated/talked before marriage.

You enjoy each-other’s company: This is something which no one will ever tell you about marriage. You enjoy being together and you always want to spend more and more time together. You enjoy doing a lot of things together and it gives you a sense of togetherness and buddy ship when you are together. You are not just an individual personality, moreover a team of two great players.

You change yourself: When you find it difficult to change the other person, then you choose the other way to stay happy by making changes in yourself. You try to chance yourself for the other person to enjoy your relationship. You don’t want to argue and fight all the time over small and big things. The issues, which you think can be resolved by changing yourself, you just do it to feel happy with your partner.

Two-way communication: To make this relationship fruitful and worth you should always have two-way communication. A two-way communication is important for a healthy relationship. This is not possible that only you or your spouse will talk or say something all the time and the other person will always listen to it. You should always have a healthy two-way communication, where you both share your thoughts freely with each-other.

Some fights last longer: Nobody will ever tell you that some fights will last longer than your imaginations. At times, you might feel not resolving the issue and sticking to your point because you think that you are right and you are in no mood to compromise with your partner. It might be your fight will last for a day or for a few days. There comes a point when your self-respect matters more than your love for your partner.

6 Smart Ways To Become Your Spouse’s Best Friend

Are you among those spouses who love each-other very much, but still confused how to become good friends? It might be because you have never realized that friendship is important to build a healthy relationship with your spouse. To make your marriage happy and successful, it is important that you become the best friend of your spouse. You face many ups and downs in your life and you behave like a team, but to build a strong team it is important that you become friends first. If you still believe that you are not the best friend of your partner, here we are sharing some smart ways to become your spouse’s best friend.

Give your spouse enough time: You can’t build a good relationship overnight and similar is the case of building good friendship with your spouse. Understand each-other and give some time to each-other. This is really required to build good friendship with your spouse.

Spend more and more time together: To know each-other better, it is important that you should spend more time together. It might be you are so much busy with office work and other professional responsibilities, still spare some time for each-other and enjoy the company of each-other.

Enjoy his/her imperfection: Nobody is perfect and you should always enjoy this fact. It might be you are not good with a few things and totally worst in some, similarly your spouse might be awesome with something and has some weaknesses too. Accept his or her imperfections and enjoy it. Don’t behave like a teacher or mentor all the time, behave naturally and normally with him/her. It is not important to be perfect all the time, but it is more important to enjoy whatever you are doing together.

Explore the interest of each-other and participate: It is good if you know the interest of each-other and try to become part of it. It might be he/she likes something which you don’t like, but try to get yourself involve in it. Try to explore his/her interest and also participate in it. It will improve your understanding with your spouse and make you good friends.

Give feedback: It is good to listen to your spouse, but it is equally important to reply and give your feedback, rather than fuming when your spouse does something. Tell your spouse without any hesitation what you don’t like in more constructive way to him/her understand your point better. It is not necessary that you agree over things all the time, but it is good if you communicate your differences in more constructive ways.

Value each-other’s freedom:  Marriage is not a cage or end of your freedom and social life. The old notion of two becomes one after marriage is good to support each-other and behave like a team, but it does not mean that you forget your identity and freedom. One should never lose his/her identity after marriage as well. It is not healthy for any relationship to your identity. Try and maintain that thin line of working together as team and still enjoying your identity.

6 Traits A Man Wants In His Future Life Partner

Last week, I was chit-chatting with my colleges. In our generic conversation, we land into the hottest and talked about topic and started discussing about the married life and our expectations from our life partner. I was surprised to know his expectations from his future partner. Generally, we assume that males are not as imaginative as females and they don’t dream and plan much for their marriage as females. But, after knowing his views I changed my opinion and thought that males too have different set of expectations from their life partner and it is quite obvious. It is not just about that they want a life partner who can cook good meal or take care of this daily stuff, but much beyond that on personal level and on emotional level. Let’s take a look a few traits what a man wants in his future life partner

1.       Understanding: This is one of the most basic things, which we all want and look forward in our life partner. We want someone to be understanding and caring as well. A man wants his life partner to understand his feelings and emotions. He wants his wife to understand their habits and hobbies. Our parents and friends at times refuse to understand us, but we want our life partner to understand us better and listen to us.

2.       No tantrums and drama: Most of the men agree over this point that they don’t want a life partner, who throws tantrums and will be drama queen. They want someone who is mature and sensible. Fighting some time is fine with everyone as it increases your love, bonding and good for a healthy relationship. But, fighting over everything, showing tantrums and making big fuss of everything is a big turn off for men. Therefore, they want a life partner who is easy going.

3.       Trustworthy: If you feel a strong urge to check the phone of your spouse, check her calls and messages, then this is the clear signal of distrust in her. Once you start prying into each-other’s phone call and messages, all faith goes into bin. Therefore, it is important to find a trustworthy partner and build a long-lasting trust in her. Trust is an important factor in marriage and can build or ruin any relationship.

4.       Doesn’t restrict you: Nobody wants to live in restrictions or under rules after marriage. We all want a life, which is very much free and independent. Your relationship doesn’t restrict you such as, “if you will go out with your friends, I will not talk to you”.  Such restrictions will make your relationship dull, weak, boring and suffocating. Don’t restrict your love and don’t let other restrict your social and personal life. Guys don’t want a partner who will not let them be what they are and impose different restrictions on them.

5.       Respects his family: All males want a life partner who will respect his family the way she does for her family. Families play important role in any relationship and you can’t imagine a home without a family. You can’t stay away from your family for long time, even if you are staying in different cities. You want your life partner to respect your family and behave well with them. They want that she should give them due respect and build a lasting relationship and understanding with them.

6.       Accept you with your flaws: The person with whom you are going to spend rest of your life should accept you the way you are. She should not all the time tell you that you are not doing it correctly or you have a bad dressing sense or anything else. She should accept you the way you are and you should not spend of her life changing you or changing your habits. She should believe in your strengths and ready to accept your weaknesses.
