Are you among those spouses who love each-other very much,
but still confused how to become good friends? It might be because you have
never realized that friendship is important to build a healthy relationship
with your spouse. To make your marriage happy and successful, it is important
that you become the best friend of your spouse. You face many ups and downs in
your life and you behave like a team, but to build a strong team it is
important that you become friends first. If you still believe that you are not the
best friend of your partner, here we
are sharing some smart ways to become your spouse’s best friend.
Give your spouse
enough time: You can’t build a good relationship overnight and similar is
the case of building good friendship with your spouse. Understand each-other
and give some time to each-other. This is really required to build good
friendship with your spouse.
Spend more and more
time together: To know each-other better, it is important that you should
spend more time together. It might be you are so much busy with office work and
other professional responsibilities, still spare some time for each-other and
enjoy the company of each-other.
Enjoy his/her
imperfection: Nobody is perfect and you should always enjoy this fact. It
might be you are not good with a few things and totally worst in some, similarly
your spouse might be awesome with something and has some weaknesses too. Accept
his or her imperfections and enjoy it. Don’t behave like a teacher or mentor
all the time, behave naturally and normally with him/her. It is not important
to be perfect all the time, but it is more important to enjoy whatever you are
doing together.
Explore the interest
of each-other and participate: It is good if you know the interest of
each-other and try to become part of it. It might be he/she likes something
which you don’t like, but try to get yourself involve in it. Try to explore
his/her interest and also participate in it. It will improve your understanding
with your spouse and make you good friends.
Give feedback: It
is good to listen to your spouse, but it is equally important to reply and give
your feedback, rather than fuming when your spouse does something. Tell your
spouse without any hesitation what you don’t like in more constructive way to
him/her understand your point better. It is not necessary that you agree over
things all the time, but it is good if you communicate your differences in more
constructive ways.
Value each-other’s
freedom: Marriage is not a cage or
end of your freedom and social life. The old notion of two becomes one after
marriage is good to support each-other and behave like a team, but it does not
mean that you forget your identity and freedom. One should never lose his/her
identity after marriage as well. It is not healthy for any relationship to your
identity. Try and maintain that thin line of working together as team and still
enjoying your identity.
