Kingdom of Mysore
Mysore was a kingdom of India which ruled by the Wodeyar royal family. The Wadiyar
dynasty was Hindu a Kingdom of Mysore from 1399 to 1947. After the independence
of India, the kingdom of Mysore was incorporated into the Dominion of India.
King Yaduveer
Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar
In Kannada language, the word ‘Wadiyar’ stands for ‘Lord’. The
current king Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar was born on 24 March 1992.
He is the Maharaja of Mysore and 27th
head ruling Wadiyar family. In Feb 2015, Yaduveer was adopted by Pramoda Devi
as her son and he declared as the natural son of Sri Srikantadatta
Narasimharaja Wadiyar and his wife Smt Pramoda Devi Wadiyar. He went to Vidya
Niketan School in Bangalore and completed class 12 at Canadian International
School, Bangalore. He made his degree in Economics from the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst in the USA.

Royal wedding of King Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja
Wodeyar with Trishika Kumari Singh was held at iconic Amba Vilas Palace in
Mysuru on 28th June 2016. Marriage receptions will be arranged on 2nd
July 2016 at Palace in Bengaluru.The king Wodeyar marriage with Trishika Kumari
Singh daughter of King Harshvardhan Singh and Maheshri Kumari from royal family
Dungarpur in Rajasthan. The wedding was performed by priests in the presence of
guests at decorated “Kalyana Mantapa” in the royal palace of Mysore.

Ritual for Marriage
of King Yaduveer Krishnadatta and Trishika Kumari Singh
Wedding rituals was performed as per the royal traditions of
Mysore kingdom. Check the following steps for the royal marriage of King of
Mysore.
1.
The royal wedding started with King Yaduveer’s making
“Pada Puja” to “Rajaguru” Bramhatantra Parakala Mutt seer Brahmatantra
Swatantra Swami.
2.
The king performed “Ganapati Pooja” and “Trishika
Gowri Puja” on the marriage day. King Yaduveer performed Gange Puja in
Somanatheshwara temple inside the Mysore palace in the late evening.
3.
He performed ‘Ganapathy Puja’ and ‘Samavarthana Homa’
in Chamundi Thotti of the royal palace with his biological parents Swarup Anand
Gopal Raj Urs and Tripura Sundari Devi.
4.
Kashi
yatra- King Yaduveer went with royal family around the palace by wearing
slippers, a book, walking stick and umbrella on his hand in the procession of visiting
all 12 temples in Mysore palace. Parents of Princess Trishika Kumari, performed
Padapuja to King Yaduveer and requested their to get their daughter Trishika married
to him.
5.
King Yaduveer’s” Upanayana” ceremony was performed
by the sacred thread for entering into Grihastha (wedding family life) from
Brahmacharya (bachelor life).
6.
Kanyadan-
Harshvardhan Singh and Maheshri Kumari Devi gave their daughter’s hand with the
King Yaduveer with her responsibility.
7.
Mangalya Dharana-
Here the exchange of garlands, “Mangalya Dharana’(nuptial knot tying) was performed
by the King on the neck of her queen.
8.
Saptapadi-
The groom and bride (king and queen) make 7 steps around the sacred holy fire
which is known “Saptapadi”.
Mysore Palace Decoration
and Reception
Mysore Palace was lightened up for big wedding. The royal
family has invited VVIP guests to the wedding reception that will be held at
Durbar Hall. Top politicians, Karnataka CM and his cabinet Ministers, foreign diplomats
from different countries and royal families from the country invited for
wedding ceremony. Traditional dance presented at Palace weddings and a Carnatic
music program by Mysore Violin Brothers and M. Manjunath as part of ceremony. The
royal guests from Udaipur, Mewad, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Gwalior were present at
the marriage. Royal head gears with colours of Rajput and Mysore style were added
to marriage function. Luxurious south Indian delicacies were served as food to
the royal invitees.
